This journey combines two of Central Asia’s most distinctive destinations — Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan — linking remote desert landscapes with some of the most important cities of the Silk Road.
The itinerary is designed to provide structured access to Turkmenistan’s ключевые регионы and a seamless transition into Uzbekistan’s historic centres, including Bukhara, Samarkand, and Tashkent.
It offers a balanced combination of archaeology, architecture, and cultural context, while maintaining reliable logistics across borders.

Tour itinerary
Day 1 — Arrival in Ashgabat
Arrival at Ashgabat International Airport. Meet your guide and transfer to the hotel.
Overnight in Ashgabat
Day 2 — Ashgabat | City & Old Nisa
Visit the Tolkuchka Bazaar (weekends), followed by a city tour of Ashgabat.
Continue to Old Nisa, located near the foothills of the Kopet Dag mountains.
Visit key city landmarks, including memorial complexes, central monuments, and the National Museum of History and Ethnography.
Overnight in Ashgabat
Day 3 — Ashgabat → Darvaza → Ashgabat
Travel north into the Karakum Desert by 4x4 vehicles.
Stop in Bokurdak village to observe traditional life and local crafts.
Continue to the Darvaza Gas Crater for a short exploration of the site.
Return to Ashgabat.
Overnight in Ashgabat
Day 4 — Ashgabat → Mary
Drive east along a historic Silk Road route.
Stops include Anau and Abiverd archaeological sites.
Continue to Mary.
Overnight in Mary
Day 5 — Mary → Ancient Merv → Turkmenabat
Visit Ancient Merv, including its main archaeological zones and Seljuk-era monuments.
Continue to Turkmenabat.
Overnight in Turkmenabat
Day 6 — Turkmenabat → Farap Border → Bukhara
Transfer to the Farap border crossing and complete formalities.
Cross into Uzbekistan and continue to Bukhara.
Begin exploration of Bukhara, including Lyabi-Khauz and surrounding historic areas.
Overnight in Bukhara
Day 7 — Bukhara → Samarkand
Continue exploration of Bukhara, including the Samanid Mausoleum, Ark Fortress, and Poi Kalyan complex.
Afternoon transfer to Samarkand.
Overnight in Samarkand
Day 8 — Samarkand → Tashkent (Train)
Explore Samarkand, including Registan Square, Gur Emir Mausoleum, Bibi Khanum Mosque, and Shahi-Zinda.
Evening train to Tashkent.
Overnight in Tashkent
Day 9 — Tashkent | City Tour
Explore Tashkent, including Khast Imam Complex, Chorsu Bazaar, Independence Square, and Amir Timur Square.
Overnight in Tashkent
Day 10 — Departure
Transfer to the airport for departure.
