Tour itinerary
Day 1 — Arrival in Ashgabat | City Tour
Arrival at Ashgabat International Airport. Upon arrival, visa formalities and entry procedures are completed with assistance from your guide (processing time may take up to a few hours).
Transfer to the hotel in the city centre and time to rest after your flight.
Begin exploration of Ashgabat, a city defined by its white marble architecture and wide avenues.
Visit the State Museum of History and Ethnography, followed by Old Nisa, the former capital of the Parthian Empire located at the foothills of the Kopet Dag mountains.
Continue to the Halk Hakydasy Memorial Complex, dedicated to key events in the country’s history.
Drive through the city’s main avenues, passing major landmarks including the Palace of Happiness, Ruhyyet Palace, Parliament, and Olympic City. Stops include panoramic viewpoints and key monuments such as the Monument of Neutrality and Independence Park.
Welcome dinner.
Overnight in Ashgabat

Day 2 — Ashgabat → Darvaza | Karakum Desert (4x4)
Breakfast at the hotel.
Drive to the Geokdepe area to visit an Akhal-Teke horse stud farm, where you can observe and interact with this historic breed.
Continue to Kipchak to visit the Spiritual Mosque of Turkmenbashi and the mausoleum complex.
In the afternoon, travel north into the Karakum Desert by 4x4 vehicles.
En route, stop at smaller gas craters before reaching the Darvaza Gas Crater.
Arrive before sunset. Dinner is served at the camp, followed by time to observe the crater under night conditions.
Overnight in a traditional yurt camp near the crater.

Day 3 — Darvaza → Ashgabat → Overnight Train
Breakfast in the desert.
Return towards Ashgabat with a stop in Bokurdak village, where local families maintain semi-nomadic traditions. Experience traditional cooking and observe local crafts.
Continue to Ashgabat. Visit the Carpet Museum, known for its extensive collection, including record-sized pieces.
Explore the older part of the city, including Gulistan (Russian) Bazaar and central squares.
Transfer to the railway station for the evening train to Turkmenbashi.
Overnight in a sleeper compartment.
Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner
Day 4 — Turkmenbashi → Yangykala → Balkanabat
Arrival in Turkmenbashi in the morning. Meet your driver and begin the journey west.
Short introduction to the Caspian coastal area, including the local fish market.
Continue to Yangykala Canyon, known for its white, pink, and orange limestone formations.
Explore the canyon viewpoints and surrounding landscapes, including nearby geological formations.
Transfer to Balkanabat in the evening.
Overnight in Balkanabat
Meals: breakfast, lunch
Day 5 — Balkanabat → Nokhur → Kow-Ata → Ashgabat
Breakfast at the hotel.
Drive towards the Kopet Dag mountains to reach Nokhur village, located in a remote mountain setting.
Visit key sites including the Kyz Bibi shrine, the ancient plane tree, and the traditional cemetery marked by ram horns.
Lunch with a local family.
Continue to Kow-Ata Underground Lake, where you may swim in warm mineral waters inside a limestone cave.
Return to Ashgabat in the evening.
Overnight in Ashgabat

Day 6 — Departure
Early transfer to the airport for departure.
End of services.
